Nuclear Astrophysics is a research field which shows that the properties of atomic nuclei and the properties of stars are closely intertwined. This course will help you to get a basic understanding of the underlying processes and the experimental techniques to learn more about these stellar processes in the laboratory.

  • NEWS (03/20/2008): The course starts on Wednesday, April 9th, 2008 at 10 am in the seminar room of the Institute for Nuclear Physics at the University of Cologne, physics building, Zülpicher Str. 77.

  • In the Master of Science/Physics program this course counts as a "special course" (Spezialvorlesung mit 2 SWS) within the module "nuclear and particle physics" (Kern- und Teilchenphysik). This course is recommended by the BCGS (Bonn-Cologne Graduate School of Physics and Astronomy).
