Several TV commands, e.g. fit or recalibration, do not work on the
whole spectrum but on regions only. Such regions can be defined using
markers. There are hotkeys for all kind of markers, which are listed
in table 4.5 on page .

Markers are set in a window and remain there, even if the spectrum displayed is exchanged by another. So you can operate with one set of markers on many spectra.
